Why do some things manifest instantly while others take time?
I've been thinking about this question for a long time. As of this writing the only thing I can come up with is expectations. Take this example that happened to me today…
I work at the airport. My job causes me to go into a number of stores in different gates everyday. There is usually a decent amount of loose change laying around. I use the quarters at the laundry once a week. I put the rest of the change into my Financial Freedom Jar*. As I was walking around today I was getting annoyed. It was already Saturday and I hadn't found any quarters. Unless I found some fast I was going to be stuck paying for my laundry and I HATE THAT! I thought to myself, "Where are my quarters?" The next store I walked into I found a quarter. The store I walked into next I found another quarter. The store I walked into after the first two stores I found another quarter and a penny. The store I walked into next I found a penny and nothing else. The last store I walked into for the day I found a quarter. In case you weren't counting I found a quarter in 4 out of the 5 stores I walked into after asking the question, "Where are my quarters?" Awesome!
After asking where my quarters were I fully expected to find quarters immediately. I did!
This is going back in time but it also illustrates how expectations influence manifesting results….
It was 1999. My business partner and I had done well in the early part of the year and then fallen flat on our faces. Sometime around September or October of 1999 we talked about where we wanted to be to ring in the year 2000? We both instantly said "Times Square in NYC!" The problem was we didn't have any extra money at all. However once that idea was in my mind I couldn't let it go. After experiencing such a brutal 1999 I had to ring it out in style. I pictured the New York City skyline with fireworks going off every day at least once or twice. Time flew by and nothing happened. Finally on December 26, 1999 a car and the money for the trip literally dropped into my lap. My business partner and I left the next day. We drove from Los Angeles to Philly in 52 or 54 hours (I forget which at this moment). The next day we took off to NYC to ring out the New Year in style. It was insane but totally worth it!
Why did the money come to us at the last minute? The only thing I can think of is expectations. I didn't expect the money to come into my life until it HAD TO or we'd miss the celebration in NYC.
At this time I believe expectations influences manifesting results.
