How to Manifest a Job

Posted on August 8, 2008 in the Aaron's Posts, Manifesting category

Wow, that's a tough one, right? If you ask yourself "How to Manifest a Job?" you must first become clear on the fact that you actually want a job! I mean, who actually WANTS a job?

Well, without getting into the debate about whether or not a job is the way to go in order to attain long-term success, let's just say for the moment that - for whatever reason - you do actually want to know how to manifest a job. Just like manifesting anything else, there are very specific steps that you need to take.

1) Become absolutely clear on the job that you want

In my particular situation, although it is thankfully temporary, I do find myself wanting to work for someone else for a short while. Notice I said wanting, and not needing. Need just sends out the vibration of need, which will just bring you more of the same. More on that in the next section.

The primary goal in my particular case of wanting to get a job is simply a temporary desire to have more consistent income than I have at the moment. I have a kick-ass plan for my long-term professional and financial growth (hint: Surfside Fitness),  but in the short-term I want to bring in a bit more consistent financial abundance.

My fellow Alchemists, Namaste and Mike, reminded me that even when it comes to getting a job just to grease the financial wheels, I could use the power of manifestation to get that job, as opposed to spending countless hours going through the "standard" (and boring) methods that most job-seekers use.

In order to manifest something, however, you have to know specifically what it is that you want to manifest, otherwise you are sending out mixed signals which will - at best - bring back mixed results. So, with their help, I formulated the following specifics about the job that I want to manifest:

2) Feel the feelings of having the job

As is always the case when it comes to manifesting, your job is not to feel the feelings that will come about from a specific METHOD of getting what you want, but rather just of getting what you want.

There is a HUGE difference between saying "I want to work 20 hours per week at the gym on the corner, I want to make exactly $10.00 per hour, and I want to only work Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays" as opposed to saying "I want to work part-time in some sort of health and fitness capacity, and I still want to have time to grow my business on the side, and also have enough income to be comfortable".

The first statement conjures up an instant emotional resistance because we all know that we can't predict every last tiny detail that is going to go into our goal attainment. Since we DO know that, the emotional resistance will not allow us to fully enjoy - and believe in - the feelings of getting what we want.

The second statement, on the other hand, allows us to believe that we'll get what we want, because we aren't "tying the hands" of the universe by saying that things have to go exactly, precisely, some specific way.

Allow yourself to frequently - preferably at least once a day - feel what it will feel like to have accomplished the goal - NOT to have preordained every single detail that will go into that accomplishment.

Another important note about feeling the proper feelings in order to get what you want is that you must never NEED your manifestations to come to fruition. If it is our emotional state that attracts our desires (and it is!), then an emotional state of neediness will simply attract the circumstances that cause you to continue to feel needy.

The only things a human being truly "needs" are food and water. Everything else - and I mean everything - is a luxury. The next time you catch yourself saying you "need" something, remember that by needing it, you are simply pushing it away.

3) Have a sense of expectancy that you will get the job you want

If someone put my face to the fire and told me that I had to be honest about the single most important thing when it comes to manifestation, a sense of expectancy would have to top the list.

Yes, desire must always be the beginning, but since we must desire something before we can manifest it, desire is simply an automatic part of the equation. Expectancy, on the other hand, is what fuels the universe to do its behind the scenes magic that causes our desires to come to pass.

You must note the difference between real expectancy, however, and hollow words that are basically just "lip service". We've all known people who talk and talk and talk about their grandiose schemes, but then none of it ever comes to pass. The same thing will happen to you if you think that babbling on about your goals is going to cause them to come to pass.

A sense of expectancy means just that - you actually expect to get what you are manifesting. It's got nothing to do with the planning, the details, or the tasks that go into getting what you want. Expectancy is nothing less than a 100% sure knowing that what you want is already on its way to you!
