The 3 Alchemists

Real People ~ Real Manifestations

A Success Plan to Beat all Success Plans

Along with my mastermind partners, Namaste & Mike, each of us have made some startling revelations over the more than 12 months that we've had our telephone mastermind group. I like to call these "epiphanic moments" - as in, "I just had this great epiphany!"

Epiphanic moments are fairly joyous occasions, because they tend to herald you ceasing to do something that wasn't taking you where you wanted to go, and then, armed with your new knowledge, you start heading much more directly towards whatever it is that you want.

For me, my latest "epiphanic moment" was when I took a look at the many different projects that I am simultaneously working on. There is my primary blog, Today is that Day; I have a health related blog called Fitness Destinations; I have a blog where I can blow off some steam at The Information Underload; I have this site, The 3 Alchemists, and my "flagship" product is a social networking site for people who are into personal development. It is called - creatively enough - Personal Development Partners.

Being the perfectionist that I am, I am working on each of those projects with the same drive for success that fueled the creation of them to begin with. However, after recently going through the Wealth Dynamics profiling system, it came as no surprise that my wealth profile is that of a CREATOR, e.g. - someone who likes to create things.

Well, by referring to the previous paragraph which lists 5 major projects that I am involved with, it may be even more shocking to realize that every one of them was created within the last 12-18 months, with over half of them being created within the last 6 months alone.

Epiphanic moment: I need to stop creating new projects and focus on finishing what I have already started!

Now, although none of those projects will ever be "complete," as they are all on-going information and community resources, they will each get to a point where I can much more easily manage all 5 of them when there is no further need for constant behind the scenes development work.

Right now, although the website visitors can't see it, I only spend approximately 30% of my time actually writing on any of those blogs or participating in those communities. The other 70% of the time is dedicated to technical development and administration, customer service, advertising and sales, etc.

That percentage is just about backwards, wouldn't you say? As a blogger and online community builder, I should be spending 70% of my time on my websites, and only 30% tending to administrative, technical, and support issues.

So, long story short (we always say that, but it rarely is!), my latest epiphany has given me the guidance that - just for the moment - I need to shut down my constant need to CREATE something new, and instead focus on making each of my 5 present projects as successful as they each have the potential to be.

And they do each have great potential! The growth curve for each of those projects far outweighs the comparably small growth that each of the sites has seen up to this point. So, after all that talking, here is the plan:

I put together an honest assessment of what each of those sites needs on both a daily and a weekly basis in order to have explosive and consistent growth, and I paired it directly next to what I personally want to get out of all of this.

In other words, if I do THIS, then I will get THAT. The "this" part of the equation are all things that I actually enjoy doing, so it is just a matter of consistently  doing those things, rather than creating anything new. The "that" part of the equation are all things that not only do I want very badly, but they are things that I have wanted and been working towards for a long time. These are not some fly by night goals that will change in a week, a month, or even a year.

So, all of that being said, I documented the success plan itself, I put it side by side with the most up to date version of my short-term goals, I put myself on a 6 month timer to get it all done, and then I got it all down on paper.

You know, just like the success guru's tell you that you're supposed to! :)

Incidentally, this document looked slightly different the way it was created vs. the way it came out of the printer, so I kept fixing it and tweaking it until it came out of the printer the way that I wanted it to. The result: I now have 7 different hard copies to keep all over my house!

There is no chance that I'll be forgetting this latest - and most powerful - epiphanic moment!
