Holding out for the ideal situation

A good way for me to see what is on my mind is for me to look in my notebook and see what I have been drawing. When I wanted to travel the world really badly, I drew all sorts of maps. When I wanted to get in better shape, I would draw what my ideal body would look like. And now I want to pimp my apartment out so I can't help but draw tons of pictures about how it will look.
Furnishing my apartment has been pretty difficult because the apartment is the size of a small bedroom. So everything needs to serve some function and be a size that would fit in the room. Right now I took a twin sized bed (lame) and a table that is not made to fit into my room at all. In order to get some ideas for how I can make my room work, I flipped through the Ikea manual for ideas. I found this futon that was $250 and was perfect for my room. It was huge but because it was a futon, I could fold it up in a way that would give me space in my room. This one futon really caught my eye because it folded out lengthwise instead of becoming twice as wide. It's hard to explain but it would work with my room.
When I went on the website, I saw that the futon was $100 more than in the 2006 catalog I was looking at. Confused, I decided to call the store and figure out what the real price was. The customer service rep told me that the futon was popular so they raised their price for it. What about economies of scale? Venting my frustration, I told him that his company was greedy and got off the phone. I decided that I would probably have to settle and get a cheaper and worse futon for this room.
About a week later, one of my coworkers asks me how my new apartment is going. I tell her that I'm probably going to go to Ikea for a futon and she tells me to just hunt for furniture on craigslist. I am doubtful that that will yield anything worthwhile, but I decide to take a quick look. Low and behold I find the EXACT same type of futon that I wanted at Ikea for $150 ($200 less than the new selling price point). The only problem is that the futon is in queens and I will need a serious cargo van to pick up the futon… and the futon needs to still be available… and I need someone to help me move.
That night I'm talking to my parents about things and they ask about my apartment. I tell them how the bed isn't working and I'm trying to get a futon. They then tell me how they really want the furniture I brought with me (the bed and table that don't fit well in my apartment) because they have someone moving into my old room for a few weeks. So we make arrangements and decide on a day for a cargo van to come, pick up the new futon, and take my old furniture away. Win win win. After I had all these arrangements figured out, I called the owner of the futon and he was very flexible with all the arrangements.
So tomorrow I am getting my ideal futon for less than half of the retail price and I'm having someone come in a cargo van to help me move the futon and take my old furniture.
It's worth noting here that I held off on settling on a worse piece of furniture, mainly because I was too busy to actually get the furniture I needed. But still, that was one thing that I have been focusing on with my manifesting. So now I see that if I really want something and then detach myself from needing the results, everything will work out. It's a much more lax approach to life.
